Virgin White Tea
This is one of the rarest teas in the world. Following an ancient old Chinese tradition where Virgins had to wear silk gloves and use a golden pair of scissors to only cut the most delicate tea buds from the tea bush and put these buds in a golden bowl. The buds were dried in the wind so they could be saved for later. This tea was only drunk by the imperial court.
Mr Herman has given new life to this way of making tea. The tea “buds” are carefully cut with golden scissors by ladies dressed in protective clothing and gloves. They are then carefully placed to dry. This tea is only touched by humans for the first time when the tea you drink this wonderful tea.
Where on a standard tea plantation a picker can pick 18 to 25 kg of tea per day. The ladies can only harvest around 160 gram of this special tea a day.
The tea is packed in small bags of approximately 3 grams and you can seep this tea 4 times.
